What is your favourite colour? Is it turquoise coloured lakes dipped in vivid green valleys? This adventure follows a crystal clear creek full of waterfalls through lush forests and over a boulder field leading you to two of the most magnificent lakes in the Fraser Valley.

WHY TURQUOISE LAKES?
Situated in a majestic coastal mountain valley location is Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park. Hidden within the steep-sided valley landscape and amongst some of the largest stand of old growth forest left in the Fraser Valley are two charming turquoise lakes. The lakes dazzling colours will capture the heart of all who witness their beauty.

WHAT TO EXPECT
An all rounded trail consisting of soft forest floors with a short but steep elevation gain to a sub-alpine lake. The rocky trail follows the shoreline of the first lake, over two boulder fields, dives deep into the green valley leaving the crowds behind en route to the second lake campground destination.

Day 1
Begins with a slow and steady incline into the forest. Shortly thereafter the
trail encounters a short but steep ascend to the first lake. Following the shoreline of
the lake over two exposed boulders fields, into a thick valley of giant old growth
forests covered in dirt and roots, will lead to the second sub-alpine lake and
campground.

Day 2
The route from day one will be the same but in opposite direction. On the
later half of the trail, expect a short but steep descend back down to the Post Creek
Parking area.

Day 1 – 6km, 5-6 hours
Day 2 – 6km, 5-6 hours

Fitness Level:
Although we cater to all fitness levels, this specific tour is for beginner-moderate fit people due to terrain conditions. All adventurers will carry their own backpack including; clothing, food, water, camping and cooking equipment.

Although we cater to all fitness levels, this specific tour is for beginner/ intermediate fit people due to terrain conditions. All adventurers will carry their own backpack including; clothing, food, water, camping and cooking equipment.

Hiking Difficulty:
Moderate

There will be one steep but short climb, hiking on exposed roots and boulders. We always offer options, but to get the most out of your adventure and for the most rewarding views, reaching Lindeman and Greendrop Lake is recommended.

Recommendations to prepare for this adventure:

  • Focus on cardio fitness – get your heart pumping for 20mins each day.
  • Leg strength – practice uphill hiking at the gym using “stairmaster” equipment.
  • Squats and Lunges work well for hiking uphill (train those knees and glutes)
  • Back strength – hike trails with a loaded backpack that include elevation gains and downhill descents.
  • Shoulder and core training exercises prepare for carrying a weighted backpack.
  • Walk-in your hiking boots to avoid nasty blisters on the trail!

Food: 
All meals will be included for the duration of the adventure, except breakfast on Day 1. It is recommended to eat breakfast before pick-up on Day 1. All meals for the duration of the trip will be distributed at the trailhead.

Food is very important to us! The majority of your meals & snacks will be homemade and dehydrated using as many fresh, organic, healthy and nutritious ingredients sourced from local businesses.

Food creates energy within our bodies. Energy gives us the strength to live and experience the world around us. The key component in the process of dehydrating food is that it retains the maximum amount of original vitamins, minerals and natural enzymes. When hiking, dehydrated food is your best friend – it’s portable, reduces waste, extremely lightweight and super delicious!

Accommodation: We will be sleeping in tents in a comfortable group-camping setting right at Greendrop Lake. We will teach you how to use our camping equipment like a pro.

Day 1: Vancouver to Greendrop Lake, 6km

Jump On In! Lets meet and greet your new adventure friends at our meeting spot in downtown Vancouver. On the 2-hour drive to Fraser Valley you will notice a big transition from the agricultural flat lands to the mountainous terrain that you will call your home for the next two days. Once we arrive at the trailhead, we complete the gear check, divide all the food evenly amongst the group, orientate ourselves with our new adventure playground and get going.

 

The trail to Greendrop Lake is very diverse. Under a thick forest canopy we will use wooden bridges to cross a crystal clear creek, walk along the shore of Lindeman Lake, and over boulder fields to reach our final destination. At Greendrop lake we will set up camp and make ourselves at home in this peaceful natural environment.

 

Day 2: Greendrop Lake to Vancouver, 6km

Wake up to the smell of coffee hovering over camp. You can jump in the lake to wake up real quick if you wish. We will see three lakes today as we will hike from Lindeman Lake to Greendrop Lake and then back down to make our way to Chilliwack Lake before we’re heading back to Vancouver. Here we will put up our legs and enjoy the view of the mountains the lake is surrounded by.

    If you wish to get right back to the basics of camping/nature, this is the company to book! While being respectful to the ecosystem Sanne and Richie maintained an exciting and safe adventure. They are extremely thorough, knowledgeable and their passion is easy to absorb. Oh and the food was fantastic. Healthy, clean, homemade and there was chocolate! A definite recommendation.
