The winter route to First Peak, also named Pump Peak, is a fun snowshoe trail on the North Shore. Pump Peak provides incredible views. From the summit, on a clear day, you look down over the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley as far as the eye can see. But even on cloudy days the hike is lots of fun and has fabulous opportunities to play in the snow.

WHY MOUNT SEYMOUR?
Located just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Mount Seymour Provincial Park has been enjoyed by generations of Lower Mainland residents. The park offers panoramic viewpoints overlooking the city of Vancouver, Mount Baker and east over Indian Arm Provincial Park. Mount Seymour has excellent outdoor recreational opportunities for snowshoeing.

This specific tour is for intermediate fit people due to snow conditions. All adventurers will carry their own backpack including; clothing, food and water.

Snowshoeing Difficulty:
Moderate-Difficult (depending on snow conditions)

The total elevation gain is 450m. Expect to snowshoe uphill on uneven terrain (depending on amount of snow).

Food:
All meals will be included for the duration of the adventure, except for breakfast. It is recommended to eat breakfast before pick-up. All meals for the duration of the trip will be distributed at the trailhead.

You will get spoiled with a delicious Cheese Fondue combined with bread and veggies to dip – locally sourced and we may even have a little surprise for you as well.

Jump On In! Lets meet and greet your new adventure friends at our meeting spot downtown Vancouver. It’s not a long drive from downtown Vancouver up Mount Seymour so enjoy the “getting out of the city feeling”. Once we arrive at the trailhead, we complete the gear check, divide all the food evenly amongst the group, orientate ourselves with our new adventure playground and get going.

From the summit, on a clear day, you look down over the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley as far as the eye can see. But even on cloudy days the hike is lots of fun and has fabulous opportunities to play in the snow.

Once we reach the top we will take a nice break and enjoy an amazing Cheese Fondue combined with homemade bread and delicious veggies to dip. We will also have a little surprise to add to this.

The way down is always fantastic as we can slide fast. Kind of like skiing,  but then on snowshoes. It’ll be much quicker than the way up and you might even feel like you’re flying. Once we made it down to the parking lot we will drop you off where we picked you up in the morning.
