Why is Garibaldi Provincial Park so special?

Where glaciation and volcanism have left behind dramatic landscapes characterized by high jagged, ice-blanketed peaks towering above steep forested mountain slopes, which plunge to u-shaped valleys at relatively low elevations, makes Garibaldi Provincial Park one of the most unique and spectacular places on Earth.

We recently hire Sjef Adventures to host a trip for our group to Wedgemount Lake. It was an amazing overnight trip and I doubt if I will be able to do justice to the experience we had as a part of this trip.
First and foremost, Richie and Sanne are genuine people. It is next to impossible to find people that are professional, hard working, ethical and genuine in this industry. Their passion is contagious and their humbleness is inspirational.
They curated an extraordinary trip for our clients and I cannot wait to do another trip with them in the near future. I have years of experience with backcountry and hiking and I came out of this trip learning a lot more.
In addition, on day one I personally ran into some recurring health issues on the hike caused by a combination of factors and couple of bad decisions. Both of them were professional and well equipped to handle the situation, which further reinforced my decision in working with them.
And did I mention food? I don’t think I have eaten that well in backcountry ever!! They were inspirational enough that we were able to bring home some of their shared best practices and make a significant impact at the nutrition level even at home.
Do yourself a favor and book a trip with them. Just do it.

My friend and I recently won an adventure to Wedgemount Lake with Sjef Camping and Red Hat Outfitters.

Richie and Sanne were incredible guides, with a ton of knowledge about the area and our surroundings, leave no trace ethics and cooking and nutrition in the backcountry.

Not only did we have an awesome hike and learn some amazing things about glaciers, mountains and forests – the food was INCREDIBLE. I’m still dreaming about their homemade granola bars! We were so well fed, and we couldn’t wait for the next meal to see what we’d be having. Seriously the best food I’ve had camping ever! Healthy, nutritious and delicious.

I highly recommend adventuring with Sjef Camping – you won’t be disappointed!

Even as an experienced backpacker, I walked away with SO MUCH new knowledge after my Wedgemount Lake adventure with SJEF Camping. The seminars on Leave No Trace ethics, backcountry nutrition, and local geology are what made this trip unforgettable. Highly recommend this fun group! Thanks guys 👌
